Employment Health Check

We keep you up to date with employment law

Employment law changes quickly and it is a challenge to keep up to date. We can help by carrying out a thorough check of your employment law contracts, policies and procedures.

After conducting an employment health check, we then provide you with a succinct set of recommendations using a red, amber, green traffic light system which assesses steps you need to take on the basis of whether they are mandatory, advisable or optional.

Longmores Solicitors have extensive experience supporting companies with multiple employees and significant turnover across all manner of legal issues in relation to employment contracts, policies and procedures.

We will take the time to understand the nature of your business including your goals and your employment law concerns. Using this knowledge and our legal expertise, our lawyers will conduct a detailed employment health check. We will then make the necessary proposals to help protect your business and ensure your ongoing success.

How an employment health check can benefit your business

Compliance with employment law

In the UK, changes to employment law are relatively frequent. Unless you respond accordingly, you could be at risk of non-compliance. Our employment health check service is designed to support companies to update their employment law practices. This includes employment policies and procedures and employment contracts.

Reduce the likelihood of disputes

When you have carefully drafted employment policies and procedures in place, you will reduce the likelihood of disputes. Vague or poorly drafted employment procedures leave room for debate and misinterpretation.

Our employment law solicitors have worked on many employment disputes cases, putting us in the best position to assess where potential problems might arise. We support clients to make the necessary corrections to their employment documents, helping to prevent disagreements and legal setbacks.

Improve employment policies

Our employment law solicitors can assist businesses to review their employment policies and update these if required. With transparent employment procedures in place, all parties can apprehend their responsibilities and know what is expected of them.

We support clients to improve and update a full range of employment policies, including:

  • Disciplinary and grievances policies
  • Social media and data protection policies
  • Diversity and equal opportunities policies
  • Absence and sickness policies
  • Whistleblowing policies

Adhering to diversity and equality obligations

Our employment law solicitors can assist your company to ensure that you are meeting diversity and equality requirements. Such policies can support anti-harassment and discrimination in the workplace, serve as a point of reference for disputes and preserve the reputation of the business.

Our legal team can support your business to update your contracts and policies, making sure they reflect employment law changes and follow employment policies best practices. We have worked with businesses in many different industries and are able to draft tailor-made documents to reflect your requirements and ensure compliance.

Our employment law solicitors can support you to prevent poaching by drafting airtight employment contracts with post termination restriction clauses. We will address any queries and concerns you may have about employment law, then create contracts, employment policies and procedures that meet your objectives.

Our employment health check fees

We carry out the health check for a fixed fee of £500 plus VAT for businesses of 20 or fewer employees. Where there are more than 20 employees, the fee is £850 plus VAT.
