About the event
Longmores Solicitors, in collaboration with Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, are hosting a series of three breakfast seminars on the subject of Intellectual Property (IP).
This first session in the series will focus on exploring the different forms of IP protection available, together with the common pitfalls faced by businesses when dealing with IP and how to overcome them. We will also share some insight into IP strategies, providing practical examples and sharing some tips when managing IP. Rina Sond and guest speaker Anand Varu CPA EPA, Head of IP, Legal and Operations at IT Luggage, will provide some insight into IP strategies, providing practical examples and sharing some tips when managing IP.
In the second session of IP events (on Friday 17 May 2019), attendees will gain insight into the different options available for commercialising and making the most of their IP, in order to generate revenue streams for their business without the hard work. Rina Sond will examine the pros and cons of the various options and provide some thought-provoking ideas for businesses to implement in their own operations.
It is not always enough for businesses to have Intellectual Property protection. In order to make the most of their intellectual assets, businesses will occasionally need to take action to enforce their rights. In the third and final session (on Tuesday 18 June 2019), Rina Sond and John Wiblin will cover how Intellectual Property can be protected and enforced, including:
- The new copyright regime – what is protected and what is not
- Database rights – what is a database
- Passing off and Trademark infringement
- Remedies for infringement
- Settlement and Co-existence Agreement
