Directors Behaving Badly
- This event has passed.
About the event
Directors Behaving Badly might sound like the name for a tv sit-com but as much as we hope for role model leaders, some directors really do behave quite badly.
From undesirable characteristics to wrongdoing, the negative impact on a business can be significant if a director is following their own rather than the company’s agenda.
A panel of solicitors will share case studies of bad directors who have engaged in misconduct, financial mismanagement, and led their companies into insolvency.
They will explain the legal issues that arose and the consequences, then discuss tools you can use in your own businesses, from good governance to devolving power, that will reduce the risk of a bad director damaging a business.
They will also outline the role of a good director including:
- Their legal duties and obligations
- The relationship between directors and shareholders
- Optimal company structures
- Dealing with the interests of creditors
This event will be beneficial to both new and established directors of owner-managed businesses. Delegates will be encouraged to join in and ask the panel questions.
