About the Longmores Charitable Foundation
In 2016, Longmores Solicitors launched its Charitable Foundation, which aims to help worthy causes in Hertfordshire.
Through the Longmores Charitable Foundation, the firm can focus its charitable efforts by supporting the good work of worthy causes close to home – particularly smaller and less well-known causes that arguably are in greater need of financial support than many of the more established and well-known national charities.
The Longmores Charitable Foundation organises regular fundraising events, which with generous support from local businesses and individuals alike, helps us to provide financial donations and grants to benefit worthy causes.
Key objectives of the Foundation
- Preventing or relieving poverty and financial hardship by providing grants and services to charities or other organisations involved in this type of work.
- Supporting charities that care for individuals who are ill or have long-term physical or medical conditions, as well as initiatives to preserve good health.
- Supporting recreational, leisure, educational and other activities to help young people develop their skills and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature, responsible individuals.
Priority will be given to smaller charities and worthy causes based in Hertfordshire.
Trustees of the Foundation
The Foundation’s trustees are Longmores’ partners Richard Horwood, Chris Pease and Rachael Spalton.
Richard Horwood, said: “We really want to emphasise our local connections with the areas where we work and live and to put something back by supporting local charities that make such a difference to our communities. The Longmores Charitable Foundation allows us to do this in very practical ways that will make a real difference to people’s lives.”
